On April 30, 2026, Scheck Hillel was proud to host this year’s Book Awards ceremony in honor of the class of 2027. This time-honored tradition recognizes exceptional juniors and brings together students, faculty, and parents to celebrate the class. This opportunity–sponsored by colleges and universities across the country–that Scheck Hillel provides students is a chance for recognition and scholarship. Each award reflects distinct criteria and values that align with the sponsored school and offers students and families in attendance a glimpse into a diverse group of universities.
This year’s ceremony featured sponsorships from some of the country’s most prestigious universities, such the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, among others. Each award was presented by either a faculty member, a college counselor, or a local alumnus. Working together, the faculty carefully selected the honored group of students and established the basis of intellectual exceptionalism in the class of 2027.
The honor given to the students not only acknowledged their accomplishments but also those of the school as a whole. The day was joyous, and families sat with pride as each honoree was called to accept their award. The school will continue this tradition in the future with sponsorships from universities and colleges as well as partnerships with local alumni. While this was a great honor for the class of 2027, it is only the first step towards many more achievements. Just as the class of 2026 has graduated and left its mark on Scheck Hillel, so too will this upcoming class of seniors.
