Parashat Naso discusses the counting of the Levi’im, who, in the times of the Torah, were responsible for carrying and caring for the Mishkan. The Mishkan was a portable holy place where the Jewish people served Hashem during their travels in the desert.
This demonstrates that every person played an important role in uplifting the Jewish nation, as the Mishkan could only work when everyone did their part. This teaches us that even if one’s job appears to be “small”, they should take it seriously, because everyone has something important to contribute to society.
The parsha also teaches about the Nazir and the blessing of the Kohanim. A Nazir is a person who chooses to become extra holy for a certain amount of time by staying away from wine, not cutting their hair, and avoiding becoming impure from a dead body. We also learn that the Kohanim, who acted as priests, once blessed the Jews with peace, protection, and closeness to Hashem.
The lesson that can be taken from this parsha is that one can grow spiritually by making better choices, staying focused on what is right, and using their actions to bring more kindness and holiness into the world.
