Beginning on May 15, 2026, Scheck Hillel’s 9th-grade students embarked on a two-day Shabbaton, which many students have claimed was unlike any school trip they have ever been on!
The group stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Naples, Florida. The first day was filled with fun-filled activities that took place in the lodge’s waterpark. At night, the students indulged in a Shabbat meal and phone-free activities. The next day, the group started their morning with tefilah services and bonded with each other through prayer. During lunch, students played card games and did group activities, ending with a Q&A with Rabbi Sprung.
As the day came to an end, students sang Havdalah and closed the Shabbaton by saying thank you to their chaperones and caretakers. I speak for my classmates when I say that this is one of the best school trips I have been on!
The Roar Post thanks Student Life Director Arieh Bentolila for making this Shabbaton possible.
