Rosh Chodesh B’yachad

On a recent morning, the senior girls gathered together in the school’s Beit Hamikdash to start their day with a special tefillah service. The prayers were led by the organizer, Leah Winterman, and Dr. Barouk who planned this meaningful and uplifting experience that set the tone for the rest of the day.

The senior girls had prepared special prayers and readings to begin their day with intention and purpose. They led the class in song and prayer with enthusiasm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The class began with the traditional Shacharit service, followed by the recitation of the Shema and the Amidah. The girls also recited Tefillin and other prayers, such as the “Birchot HaShachar” (morning blessings) and “Hallel” (praise) prayers.

The girls wanted to take advantage of one of the few Rosh Chodesh they have left. Leah Winterman says, “I wanted to be able to make everyone feel how special and holy Rosh Hodesh is. There is no better way of celebrating the beginning of the new month than by doing tefillah B’Yachad.”

After the tefillah service, the class enjoyed a celebratory breakfast of fresh donuts and steaming cups of coffee. The girls sat together and chatted, bonding over their shared love of tefillah and their excitement for the new day. The donuts and coffee added a sense of fun and celebration to the morning, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
