Our Lions have concluded a spectacular 2024/2025 season with a stunning record of 17 victories, two draws, and one loss, dominating the district with wins against teams from schools such as Chaminade Madonna and Miami-Country Day.
Throughout the season, the Lions demonstrated exceptional offensive skill, accumulating a total of 77 goals while maintaining a solid defense that conceded only 10 goals. The team’s performance reached its peak at home games, where we secured fourteen victories with two losses, complemented by an undefeated away record of 3-0-1.
The team’s journey through the playoffs was marked by decisive victories, including a notable 6-0 win against Hialeah Educational Academy. However, the season came to an unexpected end during a Regional Finals match against the Florida Christian Patriots. In this matchup, the Lions faced a tough opponent and were defeated 3-0, concluding their playoff run.
The Lions were able to boost their performance this past season through a wide range of players–some new, some old, and some returning after a well-deserved break. Adam Waich, with a total of 34 goals and assists, averaged 1.6 goals per match, marking an incredible season for the Senior. Student fans also paid close attention to Eric Wainer, who, after a year of being unavailable because of his contract with the MLS Next Club, Kendall Rush FC, was ready to kick off his senior year with an exciting return to the soccer field.
“I am extremely excited for the season to come and ready to lead the Lions to victory next year,” said Roy Blatt, a future captain of the Scheck Hillel Lions. “It’s my pleasure to be the captain of great players like Joel Schuster, Marcos Fishman, and Harry Waich, who truly make a difference on the field. Let’s Go Lions!”
“We are devastated as to how the season ended last year, and we will be ready for the next season,” added current captains Eli Fishbach and David Bentolila. “Tell other teams the message–the Lions are coming through!”
