On February 27 and 28, our school hosted a fantastic Super Mario Brothers themed Color War! The four teams–Pink (Princess Peach), Yellow (Bowser), Green (Yoshi), and Red (Mario)–all competed in a fun, action-packed day of challenges.
Day one started with a beautiful Tefillah service, followed by a breakfast to gain energy for the competition. Then, it was off to Dezerland Action Park for our students, where they competed for points via arcade games, dodgeball matches, and an obstacle course. Another highlight of the day was the namesake of Color War–the Powder War–where students covered each other in colorful powder, creating a messy yet memorable battle.
On the second day, students engaged in numerous sports activities such as soccer, basketball, kickball, and many more! Additionally, fun recreational activities such as ping pong, “Jewpardy”, and painting the team’s plaque were made available for players. Among the most exciting aspects of the overall competition was the Race Car Challenge, where teams were required to assemble a race car and then race to the finish line around High School Circle. Color War ended with a final ceremony featuring a Dvar Torah given by each team, the presentation of the plaques, videos showcasing memories of the last two days, dancing, and a lip-sync performance. After an intense battle, Team Pink (Princess Peach) took first place, followed by Team Yellow (Bowser) in second, Team Green (Yoshi) in third, and Team Red (Mario) in fourth.
This year’s Color War was an unforgettable experience full of teamwork, competition, and ruach. We can’t wait for another year of an amazing Scheck Hillel Color War!
