Our senior trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, was nothing short of an unforgettable adventure! From exhilarating outdoor activities to cozy nights in the cabins, each moment brought us closer as a class while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Our journey began bright and early at Fort Lauderdale Airport. Though the 7:35 AM check-in time meant an early start, we were all buzzing with excitement for the trip ahead and were sure to stock up on snacks before setting off to our cabins. Our cabins were filled with pool tables, movie theatres, arcades, hot tubs, and more.
On Tuesday, we hit the slopes for some skiing and snowboarding on the snow-covered trails of Ober Mountain. For some, it was a chance to show off their skills, while for others, it was a first-time experience filled with laughter and a few tumbles. Later that evening, we gathered for a special night activity that brought us together through fun games and a meaningful program about the importance of community. Wednesday began with an off-road jeep tour that had us bouncing through the rugged terrain of Gatlinburg. The breathtaking views and chilly weather added an extra layer of excitement to the experience. In the afternoon, we embarked on an amazing hike, where we took in the beauty of the surrounding mountains. Our visit to Skypark–where we saw the Smoky Mountains from high above–was also a highlight of the trip. As Thursday rolled around, it was time to pack up and head back home. Though we had to skip the go-karts, our spirits remained high as we look back on the incredible experiences of the past few days. This trip was more than just a getaway; it was a celebration of our time together as seniors. Each moment reminded us how lucky we are to have each other.
Gatlinburg will always hold a special place in our hearts as one of the best weeks of our lives. We will continue to cherish the last few months we have together as a grade, with moments such as this demonstrating that our bonds will remain strong, long after we graduate. Thank you to all the faculty and staff for planning, organizing, cooking, and coming with us on the trip!
