James “Jimmy” Carter, the 39th President of the United States, is known for dedicating his leadership to humanitarian services. Serving in office from 1977 to 1981, he faced the challenging trials of a spike in inflation and an energy crisis. Even though his time as president is reported to have faced its respective ups and downs, Carter’s impact on the world continued to be made apparent even after his departure from office. Through his work with Habitat for Humanity, he helped build homes for families in need, and his efforts with the Carter Center promoted peace, monitored elections, and fought disease worldwide.
