Meet Sadie Lemmer, Class of 2025!
“I came into Hillel in sixth grade. Before that, I was at Lehrman Day School and grew up in Miami. Lehrman only goes up to middle school, and so at that point, I had to decide what I wanted the rest of my school life to look like,” said Lemmer. “I had many options besides Hillel, including non-Jewish schools, yet something inside me knew I wanted to continue to grow in a Jewish environment. There is something special and necessary about being around people who share my values every single day,” she added.
“Although I went into Hillel barely knowing anyone at all, I was welcomed by girls who are now my best friends. Beyond socially, Hillel has also helped me thrive academically. I was able to get into a program this summer, where I conducted cancer research motivated by my mom’s breast cancer diagnosis five years ago. Hobbies I enjoy outside of the classroom include tennis and photography. I carry around my digital camera everywhere to take pictures. I post these pictures to our grade account as well as on the Roar Post’s social media. Hillel has inspired me in so many ways to continue being part of a tight-knit Jewish community. I know that in times of danger for the Jewish people, we are here to support each other.”
