“Fundación el Triangulo in Ecuador helps underprivileged kids who have down syndrome. This school is focused around the 147 kids who are there due to pure donations. During my visit, I went and spent quality time with the kids on Valentine’s day and was able to interact with their smiling and loving personalities. The main focus of my visit though, was to help the performing arts section of their school. Because kids with down syndrome have problems talking, writing and reading, the arts are of the school’s biggest focus as it is a way to help the kids learn to express themselves. I, therefore, had been raising money to then donate lights and equipment to help build the school a new theater and stage. The kids put on a show for us and in a few weeks, I’ll be going back to Ecuador to see another one of their shows, but this time with the lights and other equipment which I donated set in place. This experience showed me that there are other people in the world who aren’t as fortunate as I am. But, even with all the difficulties in their life… they’re still able to find a way to love their lives and be happy!”
