“It started with my IB project. I had no idea it would turn into what it did, but once I started, there was no turning back. This something was creating a children’s book. I remember being teased and bullied when I was a kid and that experience always grew with me. I never appreciated myself until I grew older and realized that it’s okay to be whoever you are and learned that there are some things that you can change, but you can’t change who you are inside inherently. This is why I wrote the book Chubby Princess. It’s about a chubby little girl who learns she’s a princess. She doesn’t look like a traditional princess so throughout the book she learns to accept herself after being told what a princess should look like and how a princess should act. She says ‘No, people are different and special in their own way.’ I want to inspire children to think more of themselves and think better of themselves because I don’t want a generation of children to grow up thinking that they are anything less than perfect.”
