“After my first year of teaching, I bought a house. I thought it was fiscally responsible, I had a best friend willing to be my roommate, and I just knew I would NEVER leave the area. I met my now husband, who is a member of the United States Coast Guard, the following summer and everything changed. We have moved four times in our ten years together, experiencing a variety of locations, cultures, and climates along the way. We have lived in Western New York, on the Gulf in Mississippi, in the Low Country of South Carolina, on the lake in Western Michigan, and here in Southern Florida. While constantly moving is not something I ever planned for myself, I can really say that it’s been amazing. I encourage everyone to be flexible and take chances sometimes; you never know what will come of it.”
