“That game was definitely the most intense and toughest game of my life. Three years ago I was on that same field as a freshman. I returned hundreds of practices later as a senior with the goal of making history to become the first Jewish school to ever win a state championship in any sport, which we were able to accomplish. Our dream became a reality and we owe it in big part to the fans. Hearing them sing the Hatikva and cheering the whole game was our motivation. We couldn’t disappoint them. Right before those penalties we all said the Shema and I believe that really helped us too. Hashem was on our side, no doubt. I smiled throughout the entire game making sure to keep those positive vibes on the field. I left my heart and soul on that field. This team will forever be a part of me.”
